Emergency Advisory

During an emergency (i.e., Fire, Earthquake, etc.), Mountain Transit is under the authority of the Sheriff and/or Fire Department.  Mountain Transit does not coordinate evacuations.  Residents are advised to listen to KBHR (93.3) radio for information regarding evacuations and updates during incidents.  It is recommended that mountain residents keep a battery operated radio on hand to be used during emergencies.

ROUTE 13 Service to Apple Valley/Victor Valley reduced

Due to lack of ridership, off the mountain route OTM 13 to Apple Valley/Victor Valley will be reduced as follows:

Effective September 28, 2018 OTM 13
to Apple Valley/Victor Valley will no longer run on Saturdays and Sundays.

Effective November 5, 2018 OTM 13
to Apple Valley/Victor Valley will be reduced again to run ONLY Tuesdays and Thursdays.

OTM 13 IS A DEMONSTRATION PROJECT
THAT WILL BE RE-EVALUATED SPRING 2019.

BB OTM to San Bernardino will re-route as below

  • OTM 1 will go down SR18 and come up SR38
  • OTM 2 will go down SR38 and come up SR38
  • OTM 3 will run its normal route.
  • Fridays no change to service

Due to road work, Route 3 will have no service at {Bartlett Rd} today (9/19) and tomorrow (9/20).

Mountain Transit will be servicing ALL stops as soon as humanly, and transportationally, possible.

MOUNTAIN TRANSIT SEEKING MEMBER-AT-LARGE BOARD POSITION

MOUNTAIN TRANSIT SEEKING MEMBER-AT-LARGE BOARD POSITION

 

The Mountain Area Regional Transit Authority (Mountain Transit) provides public transportation for the local mountain communities.  Mountain Transit’s Board of Directors is comprised of two City Council Members from the City of Big Bear Lake, two County Supervisors representing Districts 2 and 3 or their designee, and one Member-at-Large representing the local mountain communities.

Mountain Transit’s Board of Directors invites mountain residents interested in serving on the Board as the Member-at-Large to submit a letter of consideration containing pertinent qualifications and reason for desire to serve.  Letters should be submitted to the Secretary of the Board, P.O. Box 1501, Big Bear Lake, CA  92315 by October 8, 2018.

The Member-at-Large serves a two-year term.  Meetings are held monthly on the third Wednesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. and alternate between Big Bear Lake, Crestline, and Skyforest.  Candidates will be interviewed at the Board Meeting to be held October 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., at Mountain Transit’s facility located at 621 Forest Shade Rd., Crestline, CA.

Times: Beginning at 2:30, last run 9:30

 

Additional Mountain Transit Oktoberfest buses will also pick up at the trolley stop in front of Copper Q from 6:30pm-10pm.   The free return transportation to your lodge or home runs from 6pm – 12:30am. Enjoy Oktoberfest and be part of the solution for safe Big Bear roads with hassle free transportation! This free transportation is compliments of Oktoberfest and the Convention Center.

Routes 1 & 3 Affected by Big Bear Car Show

CAR SHOW Saturday August 11

For the duration of Saturday’s event, access to the BIG BEAR LAKE Village will be denied.

BIG BEAR AREA ROUTES AFFECTED:

ROUTE 3: There will not be service past Alden into the village

ROUTE 1: {EAST} will detour around village, will hit Jr Market then next stop will be Alden. {WEST} will hit Knickerbocker then Pain stop across from Jr. Market.

Detours to be in effect for duration of event.

HWY 138 Road Closure

The OTM Route will deviate on

between the hours of

7:00am-4:00pm.

Highway 18 from Big Bear to Lucerne Valley is Closed

Affected routes: Big Bear OTM Route 13

A mudslide on Highway 18 has closed Route 13 (From Big Bear to Lucerne Valley) in both directions. Route 13 will not be running for the rest of the day.
