In order to provide Off the Mountain (OTM) service during closure the following modifications will be made to Mountain Transit services starting Monday October 2, 2017:
Downhill – No Change
Uphill – reroute through Redlands up 38
NO SERVICE TO RUNNING SPRINGS and FAWNSKIN
Rerouted to 38 and through Redlands both uphill and downhill
NO SERVICE TO RUNNING SPRINGS AND FAWNSKIN
OTM 3 No Change to route But may experience a slight delay on the down ward run.
RUNNING SPRINGS customers may catch route #4 to the CRESTLINE OTM Bus at Lake Arrowhead Village-the $5.00 OTM fare will be accepted for the trip from Running Springs to Lake Arrowhead to San Bernardino.
FAWNSKIN customers may call dispatch to arrange for transportation from Fawnskin/North shore bus stops to Sandalwood to offset no service through Fawnskin at these times. These arrangements MUST be made at least 48 hours in advance to ensure pick up.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO THOSE WHO TRAVEL TO/FROM BIG BEAR THROUGH “Front Way” (330/18):
State Route 18 (arctic circle) winter prep work begins
SAN BERNARDINO – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 8, will once again start day time full closures on State Route 18 (SR-18) in the “Arctic Circle” on Monday, October 2 to complete routine maintenance operations to prepare the route for winter months.
SR 18 will be completely closed between Snow Valley Mountain Resort and Big Bear Dam, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from October 2 through October 26.
Some of the operations that will be completed are slope scaling, turnout clearance, drain cleaning, sign repair and replacement, guardrail repair and other related work.
Motorists are advised to use SR-38 as an alternate route to and from the Big Bear/Fawnskin area.
